A landslide came down in the west of Georgia – the road was destroyed

The road linking the administrative center of Vani with the village of Sulori was destroyed after a landslide. This was reported in the mayor’s office of the Van municipality.
Traffic on the highway is paralyzed. For security purposes, the police and the Emergency Management Service have been mobilized on the spot.
Tomorrow morning, on the destroyed site, work will begin on the arrangement of an alternative, temporary road. Drivers will be able to use it until the completion of the overhaul.
“Relevant services will study the reasons that caused the disaster, and after that, the rehabilitation of the Vani-Sulori road will begin,” the mayor’s office said.
Currently, the local population can get to the district center by bypass roads. In particular, the residents of Sulori are offered to use the Gadidi-Zedavani road, the residents of Dzulokhi – the Romaneti-Saprasi road.
