At least four infants killed in fire at Baku Republican Perinatal Centre
Four newborn babies died last night in a fire at the Republican Perinatal Centre in Baku. Three more people suffered smoke poisoning, Azerbaijani media report.
The fire in the Khatai district of Baku broke out at night and “was extinguished in a short time by the forces of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Interior Ministry”. People in the medical centre were evacuated, the joint report of the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General’s Office, Emergencies Ministry and Tabib said.
Investigative and operational activities are ongoing.
