New border checkpoint between Iran and Azerbaijan opened in Astara

A new border checkpoint between Iran and Azerbaijan was opened in Astara, the media reports.

 

According to IRNA agency, with the participation of the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran, Mehrdad Bazrpash, and the Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Shahin Mustafaev, the new bridge built over the Astara River was put into operation.

 

Iran and Azerbaijan started the construction of the bridge in January 2022.
