Russia open to dialogue on Ukraine, but this does not change special op goals: Peskov
Russia is ready for a dialogue on the Ukrainian settlement, but the goals of its special operation remain the same, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters, TASS reports.
“The president [Vladimir Putin] has never once said that the goals of the special military operation are changing. On the contrary, he has repeatedly said that they remain the same,” the spokesman pointed out. “All of this concerns the security interests of our country, the security interests of the Russian people living there. Therefore, there was no talk of any changes here,” he said.
“Putin has repeatedly spoken about openness to dialogue with all interested parties and all those who can contribute to the settlement of this conflict,” Peskov added.
Putin has previously emphasized Russia’s commitment to the goals of the special military operation and its readiness to achieve them by peaceful means. However, the political and diplomatic settlement of the conflict in Ukraine has been consistently blocked by Kiev and the West.
