Finland will transfer to Ukraine new package of military aid worth around 118 million euros
“As promised, Finland will continue to provide material assistance. Our message to partner countries is that we must not give up,” Defence Minister Antti Häkkänen (NCP) said in a release.
Finland has announced plans to deliver its 25th military aid package to Ukraine, according to a defence ministry press release on Friday.
The value of the defence materiel package is an estimated 118 million euros. Since Russia’s invasion, the total of Finland’s defence support for Ukraine currently stands at 2.3 billion euros, the ministry reported.
“Developments in the war in Ukraine continue to be serious. As promised, Finland will continue to provide material assistance. Our message to partner countries is that we must not give up,” Defence Minister Antti Häkkänen said in the release.
As in past military aid package announcements, the ministry did not disclose the contents, method of delivery or the schedule of its latest military materiel shipment — due to operational concerns as well as to ensure it arrives safely.
“Both Ukraine’s needs and the resources of the Defence Forces have been taken into account when deciding on the additional assistance,” the defence ministry’s release read.
