Russia’s Putin meets top military officials to discuss situation in Kursk region

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday (August 24) held a meeting with top military officials ‘on countering the enemy forces that invaded the territory of the Kursk Region and the measures taken to destroy them,’ the Kremlin press-service said, Reuters reports.

In a video released by the Kremlin, Putin was seen receiving reports from the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Valery Gerasimov and the Chief of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff Sergei Rudskoy.

Later Putin also listened to reports by telephone from the commanders of the troop groups involved in the ‘special military operation’ in Ukraine on the operational situation in the areas entrusted to them.
