Iran, Turkey issue joint statement to boost trade, cooperation

Iran and Turkey have issued a joint statement emphasizing the need to enhance the volume of trade between the two countries as well as pledging to work together to realize peace and stability in the region, IRNA news agency reports.

 

The joint statement, issued at the end of Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi’s visit to Ankara on Wednesday, also condemned the Israeli actions in Gaza Strip and demanded an immediate end to the attacks in Gaza as well as unimpeded delivery of essential goods and services to the people there.

 

The two countries also expressed their determination to expand bilateral political, economic, and cultural relations, while explaining their views on important regional and international issues.

 

The two leaders also referred to the situation in South Caucasus in their statement. “Emphasizing the need to respect the territorial integrity of the countries in the Caucasus region, the two countries evaluated the 3+3 dialogue mechanism as a suitable forum for consultation and constructive cooperation between the member countries”, the statement reads. Ukraine, Yemen and Afganistan also were discussed.
