WHO will provide assistance to forcibly displaced people from Nagorno-Karabakh: Ghebreyesus
The World Health Organization (WHO) will do everything to help those forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director General of the WHO, announced this at a briefing held in Geneva.
He emphasized that forcibly displaced people are in a vulnerable situation and that “all parties must protect civilians” and “international law must be respected”. “We will do everything to provide support from the WHO,” assured the General Director.
Earlier, in a briefing held in Yerevan, the press secretary of the head of the Armenian Government, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, announced that more than 50,000 forcibly displaced people have arrived in Armenia from Nagorno-Karabakh.
