Turkey plans to supply gas to Europe together with Azerbaijan: Dönmez

Fatih Dönmez, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, said in an interview: CNN TurkThe republic, together with Azerbaijan, expects to supply gas to European countries.

The Minister stated that Azerbaijan has invested heavily in Turkey. In particular, the Azerbaijan state oil company SOCAR is one of the biggest investors in the Republic of Turkey.

According to Dönmez, cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey will begin in a third country.

“There will be new types of collaboration. BOTAŞ and SOCAR (Turkish and Azerbaijan State Companies) established a new company. We will give gas to Europe. “We declared that we will be the center of gas trade,” said the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources.

According to Dönmez, the Balkan countries rely on gas from Azerbaijan and Turkey.

In the same interview, Dönmez said that the Turkish Grand National Assembly began to amend the legislation necessary for the gas distribution center, which is the international gas trade center, to become operational.
