Iran warns that Israel should not be allowed to enter Caucasus: Amirabdollahian
Iran’s foreign minister said: Israel’s presence in the Caucasus is one of the most important issues, and Iran warns all parties to act wisely regarding Israel and not open Israel’s foot to the Caucasus, IRNA reports. Hossein Amirabdollahian, after meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu in Ankara at a joint press conference, stated: We are here to once again show our solidarity with the nation and to declare the government of Turkey as a friend and brother.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran stated: Today we had the opportunity to discuss bilateral issues. We had an important conversation about the importance of business relations. The increase in the volume of trade has been realized more than ever, which is due to the will of the leaders of the two countries and the new government in Iran.
Stating that Iran emphasizes regional partnership instead of regional competition, including corridors, he said: We agree on the importance of Iran’s continued access to Aras River water. The joint working group continues its work in this regard so that the people of the western regions of Iran can benefit from it.
The head of the diplomatic service of Iran considered the fight against terrorism as one of the other axes of his conversation with his Turkish counterpart today and said: “Terrorism from the Kurdistan region of Iraq and ISIS from Afghanistan are our common concerns”.
The foreign minister also referred to the Iran’s participation in the restoration of Ankara-Damascus relations: “We also welcome the return of Turkish-Syrian relations. We were interested in working to resolve misunderstandings between Syria and Turkey”.
In the end, he emphasized: “We welcome participation in any quadrilateral format. We also discussed the format of Iran, Azerbaijan and Turkey and we have a consensus. We also follow the 3+3 format”.
