NATO ships entered the Baltic Sea

The ships of the 1st Standing NATO Naval Group have entered the Baltic Sea and will take part in exercises with neighboring allies and partner countries, Interfax reports.

“Several permanent NATO rapid reaction ships of the SNMG1 group entered the Baltic Sea. The rest of the ships will arrive at the Port of Tallinn on Friday. The primary task is to show the presence of allies in the Baltic Sea,” the ERR broadcast portal said in a statement.

The three frigates in the port came from the international northern waters of Norway, where they participated in the Cold Response military exercise.

The NATO ships are expected to be replaced by another group of naval forces next week.
