Protests against local elections have begun in Tbilisi

A protest has begun in the Georgian capital against local elections. Protesters have completely blocked Rustaveli Avenue. Tbilisi’s Freedom Square has also been closed.
The opposition had earlier announced that it would organize a “peaceful revolution” on election day.
In order to ensure order, security forces from different parts of the Georgian capital have been moved to the city center.
The ruling Georgian Dream party has stated that internal and external forces are preparing unrest in the country.
The party expressed confidence that it will win in all 64 communities.
