Aliyev will not attend parade in Moscow on May 9

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will not travel to Moscow to participate in the events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory, said Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.
In Baku, this was explained by Ilham’s participation in the events dedicated to the memory of his father, Heydar Aliyev. May 10 is the birthday of Heydar Aliyev, who died in 2003, РБК writes.
Ilham Aliyev’s last visit to Russia took place in the fall of 2024. On October 8, he arrived in Moscow for talks with Vladimir Putin.
