Trump to be monitored by mounted police and drones during London visit

British authorities are planning their largest security operation since the coronation of King Charles III in 2023 to ensure the safety of former U.S. President Donald Trump during his upcoming visit to the United Kingdom, The New York Times reported.
According to the report, British intelligence and security agencies will deploy drones, snipers, mounted police, and patrol boats on the River Thames as part of the protective measures.
The increased security follows the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk in Utah last week, which the NYT says prompted London to reassess potential threats more carefully.
The White House has confirmed that Trump will pay a state visit to the UK from September 16 to 18, during which he will be received by King Charles III at Windsor Castle.
Trump previously made a state visit to the UK in 2019, during his first term in office, when he was hosted by Queen Elizabeth II. According to the NYT, no other foreign political figure in modern British history has been granted a second state visit.
