Türkiye sold S-400 systems to one of Gulf States: Hürriyet

According to Hürriyet, Türkiye’s S-400 air defense systems are being delivered to the Gulf states and have already been sold to a third country. Some sources claim that the buyer is the United Arab Emirates, while others say that Qatar has purchased the systems.

The newspaper notes that both countries need air defense systems due to heightened regional tensions amid the U.S.-Iran war. The Turkish authorities have not yet officially announced the deal.

By getting rid of the Russian-made S-400 air defense systems, Türkiye will be freed from U.S. sanctions. This will also help Türkiye rejoin the U.S. F-35 Lightning II fifth-generation fighter jet program, the newspaper writes.
